Inter-island
Ferry Authority: The IFA is a
Port Authority created by its member communities: Craig, Klawock, Thorne
Bay, Coffman Cove, Wrangell and Petersburg. Ketchikan is not a member
community. IFA ferries are 200 feet long with a single steel hull.
The IFA ferry Prince of Wales started service in 2002, making daily
trips of three hours each way between Ketchikan and Hollis. A second ferry, the Stikine
, is planned for the Coffman Cove-Wrangell-Petersburg route sometime in
