Director of Philanthropy
CoastAlaska, Inc. is looking for a Director of Philanthropy to initiate major giving and legacy programs. Our 2007 service expansion provides an exciting opportunity for implementing new policies and programs. This newly created position is based in Juneau, Alaska’s capital, and requires occasional travel between communities.
We are seeking an energetic person with a high level of personal integrity and motivation. Ability to articulate enthusiasm for public broadcasting is required. Diplomacy for positive and productive relationships with donors is crucial. Proven success in fundraising is essential. Excellent communications skills required and public radio experience helpful.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who is a great team member and who will enjoy working in an innovative organization with station and regional staff located across Southeast Alaska. CoastAlaska stations raise some of the highest per capita membership support in the United States.
CoastAlaska, Inc. is a regional non‑profit public broadcasting organization consisting of stations: KCAW Sitka, KFSK Petersburg, KRBD Ketchikan, KSTK Wrangell and KRNN, KXLL, KTOO FM & TV, Juneau. CoastAlaska provides administrative, financial, development, engineering and technical support services to member stations. Each station is locally owned and operated with support from CoastAlaska. Stations rely on volunteers to produce many hours of programming and for general operating support. Stations are members of National Public Radio, Public Radio International and the Alaska Public Radio Network.
CoastAlaska is a dynamic, evolving organization committed to providing quality programming to the 70,000 residents of Southeast Alaska. The regional climate is wet, surprisingly mild and the physical environment is wild and spectacular. Mountains, water and rainforest dominate the landscape. Wildlife and recreational opportunities abound. In addition to government jobs, the local and regional economy is supported by the tourism and fishing industries.
